Our Commitment

Kairos Studios LLC, operator of Varia at variagenome.com, is committed to making the product usable by people with disabilities. We target conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA for the primary conversion path: landing page, free scan upload, existence preview, and dashboard. That is our target, not a claim of full conformance today; the gaps we know about are listed under Known Limitations.

Varia does not use third-party accessibility overlays or widgets. Improvements are made directly in our HTML, CSS, and application code.

Measures We Take

• Automated axe-core checks against the WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules on our marketing pages and the post-scan preview, run on every proposed code change. The app shell is checked against a smaller set of structural rules.
• Design tokens chosen to meet WCAG AA text contrast on the default light theme.
• Visible focus indicators on interactive controls.
• Status messages (scan progress and scan-complete summaries) exposed to assistive technology.

Known Limitations

Automated checks do not yet cover the results dashboard, the Citation Library, or dialogs, and none yet tests the criteria new in WCAG 2.2, such as minimum target size and focus not obscured. We are extending them to those states.

Genomic visualizations and dense dashboard tables may require horizontal scrolling at high zoom levels. We continue to improve reflow on small viewports. If a barrier affects your ability to complete a scan, please tell us using the contact below.
